• The Expert Prepper's Ultimate Survival Guide

The developer who has created The Expert Prepper's Ultimate Survival Guide states on his website that his motivations for making such a course comes from a desire to see the common man or woman be able to prevent something terrible from happening. He claims to be a former corrections officer and asserts that when he sees news of women and children being abducted and men being beaten and mugged that he is disturbed. So his motivations for composing such a course are essentially altruistic.

It is true that anything can happen to you at any time and that there are many people out there will harmful intentions for others. Should you be able to ward off an attacker and prevent a tragedy? Sure. Is this course the one that will teach you to do so? The creator says so. He makes the interesting statement that anything in your home-any household objects that are likely to be in any room at your home at any time can be turned into a weapon. In the Practical Self-defense course you will among other things learn how to use these objects to protect yourself and your family from would-be attackers.

What You Will Get From the Course

Practical Self-defense should be taken for what its title implies. You are not going to be able to compete in martial arts tournaments even if you master the techniques contained in The Expert Prepper's Guide. It is a straightforward, get yourself out of danger kind of self-defense course. It teaches no specific style of martial arts but borrows a bit of practical information and techniques from actual martial arts.

The creator of The Guide goes on to say that he wants the practitioners of his course to feel safer in their homes and on the streets. If you do apply the methods used in his course, you will probably feel a bit more secure in sketchy situations as you would with any self-defense training. In any case, it is always a good thing to have at least some basic self-defense training under your belt.

    Pros:

The main benefit of this offer is that it is so cheap. There is little to lose monetarily and a lot to gain.

    Cons:

The creator makes no mention of his own training or of his authority to teach self-defense.

    Conclusion

Practical Self-defense sounds nice and it is cheap but there is not enough substance or information here to make this offer worth it. You are better off going with another course that actually tells you what you will be getting if you want to learn some self-defense.
