Defending yourself, according to Matt Bryers, is the responsibility of every man. He stresses that you must be a “warrior” in modern times because every day the world is getting more and more dangerous. Matt Bryers is a martial arts expert and he claims that it is also his job to train SWAT teams corrections officers and other law enforcement personnel hand to hand combat. He has distilled what he has learned over the years into a training course entitled Warrior Combatives Academy.

Warrior Combatives Academy focuses on JuiJitsu techniques that Bryers specializes in but with the added focus of real street fights and attacks. Matt says that if you follow his methods you will be able to protect yourself and others from those who mean to do harm. One interesting claim that Matt makes is that if you master his techniques you will be able to not only fend off one attacker, but multiple attackers at once. He makes it a point to note that very few fights are one on one so you must be able to defend yourself if you are jumped.

This offer is unique in that it draw upon what Bryers calls “instinctual” techniques. In a nutshell, Matt’s philosophy to self-defense is that everyone already possesses what is needed to properly defend themselves and others. This is the reason that he hypes his training system as one that will not take a lot of time or effort to master. In fact, that is one of the major selling points-that you will be able to master these techniques much easier and quicker than if you try to learn otherwise. Bryers has essentially done all the unnecessary training for you and teaches you only that which will be useful.

    The Training Course

The Warrior Combatives Academy is a collection of materials that aims to teach you how to defend yourself in any situation. There is a 25 technique video training course that covers some of the essential moves and techniques then there is an additional 5 video course where you will learn what you will need to be victorious in a fight. Your purchase of the Warrior Combatives Academy also includes access to the man himself, Matt Breyers through which you can ask him any questions you may have. This membership will also give you the added resource of communicating with other students.

    Testimonials

“,He’s been a great coach in teaching me how to defend myself, hes been a great coach in competition.”  –These are the words of Evan M. who says that he has been training with Matt for about 5 years

    Pros:

If you are interested in learning various JuiJitsu techniques from the comfort of your own home, this training course has the answer for you. It is also a great way to stay in shape and hone your body.

    Cons:

Many of the reviews on the Warrior Combatives Academy sales site seem to be from students who actually train with Matt at his gym in Connecticut and there are no reviews for the actual product being sold.

    Closing Thoughts

The sales site is a bit off-putting in that it takes a very alpha male approach and almost shames you into buying the course. Matt teaches a very specific style of JuiJitsu that may not be for everyone. Unless you are specifically intrigued by KobukaiJuiJitsu and have are able to learn without the direct tutelage of an instructor, the Warrior Combatives Academy is probably not for you.
